Dutch for University of Groningen students, PhDs' and postdocs A1 > A2 - online

At the moment there are no courses open for registration. The next course round will start in April. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will keep you informed about the exact start of the course registration.

Dutch is the language of instruction right from the start of the first lesson. The language courses concentrate on communication, and that means that the Dutch learnt is actively practised during class. Themes that will be dealt with include introducing yourself, ordering something in a café or restaurant, making an appointment, making suggestions, buying something at the market, asking the way and visiting the doctor or bike shop. The intended final level of the beginner’s course is CEFR A2.

This course will be taught as an online interactive group course via Blackboard Collaborate; our online classroom for the coming period! One lesson lasts 90 minutes. Per lesson you should count on 2-3 hours of self-study. Read here everything you can expect from an online language course.

International students, PhDs' and postdocs of the University of Groningen are being offered these Dutch courses at the Language Centre by the Board of the University of Groningen. Read everything about these regulations and see if it applies to you here.

Advice
Students who already have some knowledge of Dutch, to be demonstrated with an advice card, may take a level A1>A2 course. In order to receive an advice card, please attend the Dutch Office Hour or take the level 0>A1 course.

Dutch for native speakers of German
There are separate groups for German native speakers. Because German and Dutch are so similar, the material can be covered faster.
