Spanish CEFR B1 > B1/B2 - online

At the moment there are no courses open for registration. The next course round will start in March. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will keep you informed about the exact start of the course registration.

The Spanish language courses of the University of Groningen Language Centre focus mainly on speaking and understanding Spanish. More attention will be paid to reading and writing skills from level CEFR level A2 onwards. Grammar is not a goal in itself in our Spanish language courses, but is used to support the language acquisition. A great deal of attention will be paid to acquiring a basic Spanish vocabulary.

Level B1 > B1/B2 is for participants who understand Spanish on familiar matters encountered in work, school and leisure and would like to spontaneously interact with native speakers.

Language of Instruction
The target language is the language of instruction as much as possible. When necessary, the course is taught in Dutch and/or English.

Online course
This course will be taught as an online interactive group course via Blackboard Collaborate; our online classroom for the coming period! One lesson lasts 90 minutes. Per lesson you should count on 2-3 hours of self-study. Read here about everything you can expect from an online language course.

Office hour
If you want to register and you have not previously taken a Spanish course at the Language Centre, we advise you to visit the office hour to discuss with a teacher which course would suit you best, but this is not mandatory. Please note that you can already register for the course you are interested in. Office hours only take place in the period before the start of the course. If office hours are scheduled, you can make your appointment here.

Test your language level online
You can also determine your starting level of a language training online and in your own time with the placement test. This test gives a global indication of your level for your own reference, for a more personal advice visit our office hour.

Course Material
The course material is not included in the course fee and is not available at the Language Centre.

Nestor
You will also be using online course material in Nestor, the digital learning environment of the University of Groningen.

Attendance certificate
At the end of a course, every participant will receive an attendance certificate on condition that they have attended 75% of the lessons.

Using a Rosetta Stone account besides a language course
It is possible to use a Rosetta Stone account for online independent study besides one of our language courses, with the advantage that the account can be used after the course to keep working on your language skills. Please note that a Rosetta Stone account is not compulsory for our language courses and will not be used by the teacher.
