Italian CEFR A2 > A2/B1 - online
The Italian language courses of the University of Groningen Language Centre focus mainly on speaking and understanding Italian. More attention will be paid to reading and writing skills from level A1 onwards. Grammar is not a goal in itself in our Italian language courses, but will be used to support the language acquisition.
Level A2 > A2/B1 is intended for participants at CEFR level A2: you speak a little bit of Italian and have a limited vocabulary and knowledge of grammar. The course is aimed at anyone who wants to reach a basic level in reading, listening, writing and speaking in Italian.
Study load: 12 lessons of 1.5 hours, in addition a total of around 30 hours of self-study.
Language of Instruction
The target language is the language of instruction as much as possible. When necessary, the course is taught in English.
This course will be taught as an online interactive group course via Blackboard Collaborate; our online classroom for the coming period! One lesson lasts 90 minutes. Per lesson you should count on 2-3 hours of self-study. Read here about everything you can expect from an online language course.
Get a taste during the free Webinar Week!
On 3 February, you can attend an Italian webinar during which you can find out about the courses and the virtual classroom, ask questions and get a taste of what to expect.
If you want to register and you have not previously taken an Italian course at the Language Centre, we advise you to visit the office hour to discuss with a teacher which course would suit you best, but this is not mandatory. Please note that you can already register for the course you are interested in. Office hours only take place in the period before the start of the course. If office hours are scheduled, you can make your appointment here.
The course material is not included in the course fee and is not available at the Language Centre.
You will also be using online course material in Nestor, the digital learning environment of the University of Groningen.
At the end of a course, every participant will receive an attendance certificate on condition that they have attended 75% of the lessons.
Using a Rosetta Stone account besides a language course
It is possible to use a Rosetta Stone account for online independent study besides one of our language courses, with the advantage that the account can be used after the course to keep working on your language skills. Please note that a Rosetta Stone account is not compulsory for our language courses and will not be used by the teacher.
