Orientation to the Dutch Labour Market (ONA) - in person
In Orientation to the Dutch Labour Market, you choose the kind of work you want to do and actively look for a job in this area. Or perhaps you want to follow a degree programme first. You then look for a programme that suits you. If you finish all the assignments, your portfolio will be ready at the end of the course and you can send it to DUO. You will practise the ‘portfolio interview’ during the lessons. Dutch will be the language of instruction as much as possible. The course comprises 21 hours + homework.
Duration: 12 weeks.
Studyload: 21 hours (20 contact hours plus an individual meeting) and approximately 20 hours of homework.
Audience
This course is intended for candidates for civic integration who are required to follow the Orientation to the Dutch Labour Market (Oriëntatie op de Nederlandse Arbeidsmarkt) component. Other non-native speakers looking for work who feel they could use some help are also welcome. You must be able to speak Dutch at CEFR level B1 or higher.
The Orientation to the Dutch Labour Market (Oriëntatie op de Nederlandse Arbeidsmarkt) component is mandatory for all civic integration candidates who settled in the Netherlands on or after 1 January 2015, and for individuals who wish to submit an application for a permanent residence permit or naturalization. Read the rules on possible exemptions from the ONA exam here. Please note that the Language Centre does not offer an ONA course of 64 hours.
Intake procedure
Please note that you will need a corresponding advice from your current teacher. If you want to register for a course at this level and you have not previously followed a course at the Language Centre, then you must visit the Language Centre for an intake first.
