English B1/B2 > B2 - online
This course is intended for participants who are able to communicate on familiar matters (family, hobbies, travel, work, etc.) and some extended lectures. You can also understand many radio and TV programs, sometimes without too much effort (CEFR level B1/B2 reading, listening and conversation).
During the English General Language Skills courses of the University of Groningen Language Centre, attention will be on speaking, writing, reading and listening with some focuses on vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation.
Online course
This course will be taught as an online interactive group course via Blackboard Collaborate; our online classroom for the coming period! One lesson lasts 90 minutes. Per lesson you should count on 2-3 hours of self-study. Read here about everything you can expect from an online language course.
Office Hour
If you want to register and you have not previously taken an English course at the Language Centre, we advise you to visit the office hour to discuss with a teacher which course would suit you best, but this is not mandatory. Please note that you can already register for the course you are interested in. The office hour is held via Blackboard Collaborate.
You can also determine your starting level of a language training online and in your own time with the placement test. This test gives a global indication of your level for your own reference, for a more personal advice visit our office hour.
Course Material
There is no book requested for this course. Course material will be provided during the lessons.
Brightspace/Google
You will also be using online course material in Brightspace, the online learning environment of the University of Groningen, as well as Google Drive and Google Docs, for which you will need a student RUG mail account or a Gmail account.
Using a Rosetta Stone account besides a language course
It is possible to use a Rosetta Stone account for online independent study besides one of our language courses, with the advantage that the account can be used after the course to keep working on your language skills. Please note that a Rosetta Stone account is not compulsory for our language courses and will not be used by the teacher.
