Crossing Borders 1: Pre-departure
This course, Crossing Borders: Pre-departure (CB1), will jump-start the exploration process. You will begin to explore your destination discovering the more subtle aspects of its culture in the process. You will refine your perceptive skills and develop the theoretical framework by which you will be able to better recognise and appreciate aspects of the culture you will be engaging in. You will practice responding to such cultural differences, working to develop cultural dexterity by which you become more effective not only while abroad but also in the world beyond.
Duration and Workload
CB1 is approximately a one-block (7-week) course with a workload of approximately 28 hours; the equivalent of 1 ECTS.
